Yay for Avery!

I really like this one - it's taking something rather unpleasantly misogynist and consumerist and making it into a positive. I so hope she wins.

Some radio station in Alberta, Canada is having a contest called "Breast Summer Ever", in which they're giving away a boob job to the candidate with the most votes. Yeah, I know. BUT. BUT!!

One of the finalists is a transwoman named Avery. She's gotten a strong following online and made it to the finals, and has a serious chance of winning this contest. This surgery could literally change her life. She has an awesome video on the site explaining why having breasts would mean so much to her.

GO VOTE FOR AVERY!!! Voting is open until July 17. I can't tell if multiple votes count or not, but who knows?

Wow was today a good day. Love the simple things!

1. Beautiful temperatures and sunny blue skies - it actually feels like Spring is really here.
2. I has chocolates coming from Belgium, which reminds me I need to pay Bene for them. Sorry Bene! Just waiting for my cheque on Thursday!
3. First golf tournament meeting was tonight and it was really good. Loved seeing everyone again. And managed to get the next meeting the day after I come back from Mexico.
4. Oh yeah, less than three weeks to Mexico! Woot! Massage and facial is already booked.
5. Spent some time with the bro and that is always good.
6. After I got home, Mario called me wanting to know if I wanted to go to the late showing of Clash of the Titans. Had to see it in 3D as that's all the theatre had, but it wasn't too bad, and the movie itself was pretty good. Sam is so pretty when he's all grungy. Also saw the trailer for The Losers, so that made me happy. JDM - UNF Sir!
7. Mario even bought me a Big Mac meal after the movie. That was my McD's for April. I only allow myself to go once a month. At least I'm trying to keep it down to that.
8. I might be driving Mario's car out to Vancouver next month, and he'll buy my flight back. Would be a lot easier and cheaper than almost any other way, so it will be nice for both of us. I just need to get two days off together, and that shouldn't be too hard.
9. I might get socks tomorrow! How exciting! :)

So yeah, that's a pretty damn good day if I do say so myself!

Hey all -

Just wanted to let you know that Ath's Baths is pretty much offline. I'll still be making stuff occasionally for friends, but the 'store' is down for now. If you really want something, go ahead and ask and I'll probably make it up for you, but not in any 'official' capacity. :)

My unpopular opinion:

I hate texting. It's not that I hate words being transferred on small digital devices. Words don't bother me, nor most of their usages. What bothers me is the uninhibited rudeness it's causing in our society. When you are visiting with someone, or out for lunch, or even coffee, and you are texting with other people, sometimes about making plans that are more exciting than sitting and having coffee with, oh, I don't know, ME, that's what pisses me off. How about you switch that shit off, ok? Make me feel like I'm even slightly important to you. How about that?

I'm not talking twitter updates, although that is also a smaller issue. I'm talking about taking and making texts with people who ARE NOT HERE, while ignoring me and our conversation. That's flat out RUDE. And wanting, no DYING, to get away from me because you MADE those more exciting plans - and not being shy about it at ALL - also rude. I didn't know there was a time limit on our visit, especially since I was enjoying myself. I guess you weren't though. Sucks to be me.

It used to be I hated people who would take a million calls while on lunch or a date with me. If I guy did that, it was the LAST date. Now it's switched to texting. It may be quieter, but it's no less annoying and rude.

And that's my unpopular opinion. Good day to you, Sir. I said Good Day!
